This is not a common problem but it does happen sometimes.
Garage doors operate as a system and several things could cause your door to not close in the morning but will close at night.
If your garage door opener will not close the garage door then there may be a very simple fix.
If the setting is too high the garage door will stop short of the actual ground.
In most garage door openers there s a default setting to tell the garage door how far to close.
If the door starts down and reverses accompanied by the opener lights flashing and a clicking sound this indicates a safety eye sensor issue.
This problem bugged me for several months.
Press and hold the wall console button until the garage door is completey closed.
In order to fix this you ll want to make small changes to the close limit setting until the door opener knows to stop once the door has reached the floor.
Don t just assume that if the path is clear that the sensors are ok.
Sometimes the fix can be as simple as replacing the batteries in the opener.
Hopefully after you read this you won t have the same problem in the future.
This can be improperly set upon installation or slowly drift away from the original setting over time.

Garage doors sometimes seem to have a mind of their own often deciding when and how far they want to open or close.
If anything interrupts this beam of light the garage door will not close and the ceiling light on the opener mechanism will flash as mentioned in the previous step.
